"Often the test of courage is not to die but to live." -Vittorio Alfieri

Nagakin, The descendants of the once fierce and loathed Naga, who were more snake then anything, in appearance, skill, and way of life. Constant war between races outcast the Naga as a hunted tribe, far too aggressive and outlandish to peacefully co-exist with others outside their kinship, though the Naga also had a large reputation of waring greatly within their own tribes as it was. They left behind them tails of destruction and devastation, Hunted to extinction but various bands of races in alliance that sought to wipe out the chaotic creatures. In a last-stand against their inevitable fates, the Naga buried their unhatched eggs deep in magic borne territory belonging to the fey, in hopes that if they should fall, at least their offspring would give them all another chance in a world with no room for them. It would be years before the eggs were unearthed, stumbled upon by a rather unusal creature. Ahnicah NevT'aal, daughter of the head Priest who lead the High Elves into battle between the Naga and the greater Racial Alliance, had been brought to a clutch of eggs no longer in hiding as time had erode the earth that carved their sanctuary. Led by her own adopted son, a Great Naga himself from the days past, Ahnicah gathered the surviving eggs, and granted them a second chance at rebirth.
But so much time passed while the eggs remained buried in lands thick in magic, the naga eggs became transfused with the lands around them, permanently transforming the surviving children, eternally sleeping in bliss and tranquility inside thin shells. A hatchling proved that whatever hopes the Naga had for revenge had failed, as their offspring were blessed in the kiss of faerie, given more human like appearances, grace of the elves, laughter like the sirens and fairness of the faerie. They were lacking in vengeance and violence, innocent and gullible, Ahnicah called them Nagakin.

Nagai Rookeries==

•Nagai• The basic Nagakin, colored in varying brilliant earth hues. Able to learn to with the same brain function and actions of any humanoid. They have a keen sense of smell, and an instinct sensitive to danger, as most snakes are. They also have a more Human look to their human halves, having lost the reptilian features. Their nails are natural weapons, but because of their softer ways, the bones are able to extend and retract, like cat claws. And though their tongues are relatively normal to that of Humans as well, a small hole at the tip allows for the forked tongue to slip out, for a more sharpened sense of smell, as well as checkering for vibration, and temperature. Nagai have a very dormant instinct to hunt and eat still warm foods, but the desire for raw meats is no longer appetizing to their pallets. Though, because of -what- they are, not all Nagai are so lucky, and some occasionally fall into the old habits of their ancestors, becoming more snake minded then human. They end up leaving their sanctuary, to dwell alone elsewhere in the world

•Aqueons• Nagai adapted for lands rich in water, be it small ponds or streams, to the great oceans. Their bodies are adapted to dwell both above and below the water’s surface, live on a diet of fish and fruits. They are gatherers and trinket makers, gifted in song and dance, and lavishly marked like any exotic aquatic creature. By nature, they are playful and childlike creatures, with a mind more for serenity and comfort. Aqueon tails are complete with various fins and flippers, and though scaled like their Nagai brethren, are slick and often cold to the touch. Their sense of smell if weak, however, their tongues, fins, and ears are far more sensitive to sounds and vibrations in kind.

•Guardians• Born blind and mute, the Guardians are a strange and miraculous type of Nagai, of which are born for positive and negative colored eggs that cannot be separated. They hatch at the same time, always as a pair, one boy, one girl, with three pairs of wings, on their upper arms, small of the back, and hips of the tail, even their ears re slightly longer and resemble wings, to a point. They are also the only Nagai born with horns already visible. They are small in comparison to their kin, light in weight, and emit a soft glow that becomes stronger as the moon grows close to it’s full face. The Guardians are unable to open their eyes or speak until they’ve reached sexual maturity, of which they are also able to used an ability to simulate flight. Guardians are a needed balance for the Nagai, They are the earth bound representations of the old Gods, that create an equal-forces-balance of powers throughout the Kinship. But one cannot live without it’s other. If one is injured, the other harbors equal pains, if one dies, they both lay to eternal sleep.
